Let me just say, I LOVE THIS BOOK! I’m about halfway through it and have been totally bowled over by the raw honestly of the two authors. I’ll be honest, when the publishers asked if I would be interested in hosting a giveaway, I had to read it first to make sure it was a good fit your you all, and it is. After all, I was a bit skeptical about reading a the memoir of a romance novelist. Romance novels just aren’t my thing. But this is no romance novel! (By the way, thanks a million to Dina at Big Honcho Media for getting a review copy out so quickly)
This book rocks! It’s a memoir but is have tons of Hindsight Advice. Elizabeth Wiggs and her romance novel writing mother have teamed up to write a hilariously honest memoir of their wedding planning adventures. In fact, Elizabeth is the perfect Hindsight Bride, full of sass and an uncanny ability to be at once unapologetically honest about her decisions and behavior and, at the same time be humbled and grateful for the love and support of her family and friends.
The book is divided into 18 chapters, covering everything from announcing your engagement to buying the dress to the honeymoon to the beginning of marriage.
At the end of each chapter, you get a quick review. For example, after news of Elizabeth’s engagement hit Facebook (courtesy of her mother) before all of the key players were informed, Elizabeth offers this advice:
Once you start telling people you’re engaged, get ready for news to spread like wildfire. Make sure to tell all of the VIPs around the same time so you can avoid getting grief because your engagement popped up on Facebook before you told your family.
Each chapter is full of such useful hindsight advice. I know you’ll love it!
