Find Wedding Inspiration Everywhere!
I read a fantastic post over on Thrifty in White about how your wedding tastes are likely to change during the year or so you plan you wedding. And ain't that the truth! Just browse through my Delicious account and see how my own asthetic has changed. It's like day and night.
In the end, some of the most influential resources for designing my own wedding were, well, design blogs. They're fantastic for generating ideas for DIY projects, gifts, and centerpieces and tablescapes.
Case in point, Creature Comforts just published their online mag, Gifted, which is chock full of inspiring ideas and projects that can easily be incorporated into your wedding. Here's a few of my faviorite things for the Christmas Bride:

Lollies
FYI Ladies, the craft blogs and Mom blogs are great resources for DIY projects and ideas. I just found Makes and Takes and am loving it! Replace the flags in the center with table numbers and adjust the paper and patterns to suit your color palette and theme and you can use these lollies for any wedding! It's Strawberry Season in Western North Carolina
We are coming to an end of a wonderful local strawberry season in western North Carolina. I have a huge $10 tub-o-strawberries I've been munching on for the past couple of days. There is nothing quite like a fresh, sun-ripened local strawberry. They don't need much adornment. They are simply great on their own.

When looking for unique wedding ideas, start with you.
I am a big fan of weddings that are infused with elements unique to that couple. This DIY wedding epitomizes original, couple-centered design. I found it while surfing around on Flickr. The groom makes SO Scale disaster sculptures for a living. The couple decided to have the groom make a series of disaster sculptures to serve as table numbers. In addition to "sinkhole" (pictured below,) other unique table number center pieces included, tidal wave, mountain lion, and wildfire. Although "Disaster" table numbers might be creepy or off color for some of us, they work perfectly for this couple.

Get into the Woods and Collect Your Rustic Centerpieces and Decor
Spring is here, the weather is warming up, and Daffodils are blooming. Time to get to gather your "goods from the woods." If you're like me–and I love all things woodsy and rustic–you will swoon over Snippet and Ink's Lovely Woodsy Whimsical Spring Table. This shoot remined me that the best part of this style of wedding is the centerpieces (or tablescapes as they are now commonly called) are free for the taking if you live near woods.
