This blog has been a guilty pleasure for the better part of a year now. I love blogging about weddings. In general, I don't consider myself especially artistically inclined, yet I regularly seek out creative opportunities and love beauty, especially when it's imbued with meaning.  Blogging about weddings everyday lets me get my design-appreciating creative juices flowing, and joyously places me in the midst (at least in my mind) of the craft/design world. I also love to write Though I've struggled with insecurities about my writing skills and style for the better part of my life–academia will do that to you. Writing for the blog everyday is helping me heal from nearly a lifetime of writing insecurities.

Still, it was not surprising when I mentioned my blogging life to a long-time and dear friend she responded with somewhat uncomfortable silence, which was followed by a late-night voice mail encouraging me to stop. "It's not you," she claimed. Well, in part that may be true. I am sometimes conflicted about being a wedding blogger. On the one hand, I love looking at all of the creativity and beautiful design that goes into modern weddings. And, as I said, I also love to write. On the other hand, I was never that girl dreaming of the day she would finally marry. Weddings weren't even on my radar until two full months after the Hindsight Groom proposed.

Thanks a million to Amber over a Lotus Blossom Photography for sending this along! How totally appropriate for my life right now. Not only am I a climber myself, but life has been super crazy lately and I often feel like I'm hanging by a thread each day. I have big, big news that I am bursting to tell you all. But the timing is still not quite right, so you'll have to wait.

How to pick the best photographer for you from Two Ring Studios

I am interrupting my regularly scheduled post about DIY flowers to talk about Two Ring Studio's blog relaunch. So, I am a big fan of Two Ring Studios. I found them early in the year on Vimeo and Flickr, and hired them to do our anniversary photo shoot. Needless to say, I'm a big fan and have featured them on the blog a few times in a wedding video, and part 1 and part 2 of an interview.

Anyway, last night I got an email announcing their blog relaunch and lo and behold, when I got up this morning, there it was. A brand new post all about picking the right photographer for you. I don't need to tell many of you that this issue is near and dear to my heart. If you're new to the blog, check out my story on a guest post I did for Roots of a Blossom.

Soccer is in the air. The FIFA World Cup is winding down and soccer season has started at County Rec for the Hindsight Bride and Groom. We are definitely of the family-that-plays-together kind. So when I say this image, I showed it to D. immediately. "Whoa," he said. "Trash the suit?" Awww he's absorbed the lingo.
