What a crazy week! In addition to buttoning up some big projects at work, I have been working on a new Hindsight Bride project. Stay tuned for more details! On top of that, I'm planning our one year anniversary shoot, and feel like I'm planning a wedding again with all the meets with photographers, hair stylists, and florists. Oh, and ofcourse it's a big DIY extravaganza, so I have a to-do list a mile lond, including making cookies, pinwheels, and another (smaller) wedding cake. Aye-yai-yai!
I got a nice break on Wednesday. One of my highlights this week was attending the Palettes of Perfection (POP) Spring Fling at Apple Hill Farms. Numerous Asheville wedding professionals (as well as a couple of real brides) came out to celebrate the opening of Apple Hill Farms in Plott Valley outside of Waynesville, NC.

Southern style wedding cakes have become increasingly popular lately, and not just for the groom's cake. They are popping up all over the place, my favorite is on the cake buffett. I just love lots of wedding cake.
They differ from their European cake counter parts in a few ways. Jodi Rhoden of Short Street Cakes explains what exactly is a traditional southern cake.

But I do know this: Derek and Galen, the owners and talent behind Two Ring Studios, are deeply committed to making some of the best wedding photos and videos in Western North Carolina.

I Won Flowers on Twitter from a WNC Wedding Florist!
That's right, I won flowers from Enchanted Florist yesterday. Janet would have delivered them, but I asked if I could meet her at her place in Asheville instead. I feel a WNC Wedding Wisdom post brewing. But the real point is: I won flowers on Twitter!
