Inspiration for Your Camp Wedding
I am totally in love with this camp wedding, captured by Kelly of Steep Street and originally featured on Green Wedding Shoes. The couple clearly put so much thought and love into crafting a camp wedding that was appropriate to the venue and spoke to their values. Katie and Cameron were also on a tight budget., so they held the wedding at a camp and built their theme around it, allowing them to take cost-saving measures without looking cheap. Here are my favorites:

Beautifully Perfect Rings for Dia De Los Muertos
I am so excited to offer this sneak peek of a wedding Stephen Torrance sent along. Don't be fooled, the actual wedding is a Turkish inspired country estate wedding in the mountains. However, I thought this picture perfect in light of Halloween and Dia De Los Muertos this weekend!

Western North Carolina Brides and Vendors Rock it on Style Me Pretty

I am a bit of a local yokel. No, I'm not from western North Carolina (where I currently live.) I'm not even from California (where I feel most at home.) But nevertheless, I always love wherever I am and, by extension, I love all things local: the culture, food, history, and community. I root for the home team, even though "home" for me changes every five years or so. And I make it my business to learn the local history and understads it's culture. So when I see local (read western North Carolina) vendors gracing the pages of Style Me Pretty, I feel a great sense of local pride.

Janet P. Frye, CFP of The Enchanted Florist
By way of continuing our flower theme for WNC wedding wisdom, I caught up with Janet P. Frye of The Enchanted Florist and asked her to discuss wedding flower trends for Asheville and western North Carolina brides, Janet's response should come as no surprise, Pantone's color of the year for 2010 is turquoise.. She's seeing turquoise and guava as big wedding color trends, and "lots of little" as a textural trend in bouquets and centerpieces. However, Janet has some lovely advice for thinking through how wedding flower trends fit into the big picture of planning your wedding.

DIY-ing a wedding is sorta like childbirth (I’m assuming.) It’s a lot of pain and hard work, but once you see the beautiful results of your labor, it seems all worth it. At least that’s how I felt after our May 2009 wedding.
