What a Great Idea For Your Bridesmaids Shoes!
You've heard of mix and match bridesmaids dresses, how about mix and match bridesmaid shoes? The concept is the same, choose a color, and let your 'maids pick out their own style. Maybe they already have something in their closet, saving them money. Scratch that! Who doesn't love a good excuse to buy shoes!!!

I love it when I'm on the same page as some of my favorite bloggers on the interwed. Last week I saved the following image from The Wedding Chicks. Today, I was thrilled to see Always a Blogsmaid posting about bridal ballet flats too! Ballet flats are cute no matter what size you are, but their especially handy if you're a tall bride with a not-so-tall groom.

These flats are particularly fantastic for a fall mountain wedding. 1) They're brown, a classic fall wedding color. 2) They have a lace overlay, a classic rustic fabric. and 3) They're adooooorable!

The Hindsight Groom calls me "Twist." He says a Twist is an unexpected event or a beautiful woman. Either way, he claims, it's fitting. Neither one of us were looking for love when we met, and he thinks I'm really pretty. Therefore, twists always remind me of love and romance. I was so inspired today when I saw this beautiful woman with her hair in whimsical twists over on Hi-Fi Weddings. OK, was this not the perfect hair do for a artful camp wedding? Exaaaaactly!!

I was even more thrilled when I subsequently saw a DIY tutorial over on A Beautiful Mess. Your maid of honor could totally do this. The nature of the twists call for whimsy and imperfection, so don't worry about getting it to look "perfect." For full directions, check out A Beautiful Mess.

A Perfect DIY Boutonniere for Climbers
I found this gem over on A Subtle Revelry. Victoria originally designed these for a nautical-themed wedding, but I think it would also be a perfect boutonniere for a rock climbing or mountain climbing couple.

Think mountain girls aren't into diamond rings? Think again!
A friend recently announced that he was thinking about proposing to his girlfriend. As a wedding blogger, I wanted to know all of the details, including, of course, what ring he was considering. He explained that he hadn't gotten anything yet, but he was planning on getting a silver ring with a stone like turquoise or something because his girlfriend was "laid back" and "liked that sort of thing." At that point the metaphorical record may as well have skipped off the track. My husband and I looked at him with dumbfounded silence. Not wanting to judge someone else's decisions and preferences, but wanting to make sure his he had his facts straight, I suggested that he subtly feel her out to see what she might expect in an engagement ring, or call her family and friends and get their help with finding out. Guess what? She's a diamond girl. When recounting the proposal and how she almost got a turquoise and silver engagement ring, she her only words were "good thing he didn't." The moral of the story: Yes, we mountain girls can be laid back and enjoy wearing low-key, everyday jewelry like turquoise and silver. But when it comes to the engagement ring, many of us are still diamond girls.
