Krista and Griff's fall wedding at the Farm

When a bride starts out with the goal to have all of her guests have fun, only the best is yet to follow. Krista's commitment to "letting go" and enjoying her wedding is probably the best advice you can get. No matter what else you do or decide, making the commitment to be happy and enjoy the day will ensure your guests will be happy and enjoy themselves too. People follow the bride at weddings. ( Also, you gotta love the grits buffet bar!!!)

"Briefly tell us a bit about your wedding, the planning process, what inspired you and/or any special elements you incorporated.
I’ve had visions of my wedding for some time since Griff and I have been dating for 7 years. Also since I have been a bridesmaid 10 times, and planned some weddings myself. I had several mental notes. I knew that I wanted my wedding to be outside in a rustic atmosphere. I knew that I wanted brown and green (my favorite color) and I knew that I wanted a southern, laid back feel to the entire weekend. My main goal for the weekend was that I wanted all of our guests to have fun. I wanted them to walk away saying “Wow! That was fun” and the best part is that we have friends and family still commenting on how much fun they had that weekend.

What are three things you're glad you did?

I’m glad that I had my rehearsal, rehearsal dinner and wedding all at the same location. And my family was able to stay at some of the cabins on the location. It made for a weekend gathering rather than just a Saturday wedding.

Let go on the day of the wedding. I knew that at that point it was out of my control and any detail that slipped through the cracks, it didn’t matter, we were there to get married and that was the important part.
Photo booth! It was a blast!

Three things you wish you had done?

Nothing. Nothing at all. It was a perfect day, our friends and family, the food, music, photo booth, photography, the flowers, my dress, the details, the fire, the cake….we still talk about it every single day!

What is your very best hindsight advice?"

Figure out what your top three priorities are for the day and make sure that you splurge or at least actually do those three things. For instance I knew that photography, food and fun were our top three things for the day. Without a doubt we had the best photographer in town, our food was southern and amazing from Saffron Catering and fun, the band, The Honeycutters set the atmosphere that tied everything together make for a fun evening.
On the day of let go. Everything is out of your control at this point. Any details that do not happen, your guests won’t know. If it rains, it is out of your control b/c you can’t control Mother Nature. A week before our wedding it snowed 2 inches at The Farm. The following weekend, on our wedding day it was 68 degrees. Perfect!
Know that your friends and family that have been helping you all the way will be there to do whatever they can to make it perfect and you should just let go and enjoy. If the guest bags go to the wrong room, it’s okay. If you don’t have the knife you had planned to cut the cake with, it’s okay. If the band plays the wrong song at the wrong time…it’s okay.
Letting go and enjoying the day was the best decision I made…well besides marrying Griff!

P.S. This was so hard to write. I wish I had more advice to give but I honestly loved our wedding day so much and I can't think of anything that I wish I had done or would change…"

This was such a fun wedding. The day was perfect, Krista was beautiful and Griff SHAVED THE BEARD! AMAZING. Truthfully, we all had a blast at this wedding. It was so laid back and the food, music and photo booth set the mood for all of us. I do not know of anyone that did not talk about the wedding for a while and how much fun we had.

Krista could marry Griff again and I would go just to have fun! :0)

I was lucky enough to have attended Krista and Griff’s wedding. It was everything Krista described and more! Wonderful advice! It was a beautiful wedding and a beautiful couple!

As the Mother of the Bride, of course I thought it was the best and most beautiful wedding ever. We had so much fun and Krista was a gracious bride. She did all the planning and preparing for the wedding. When I would ask what can I do, she would always say, “Mom I just want you to have fun and enjoy yourself”. She is truly the best daughter ever and of course Griff is the best son-in-law ever. They make a perfect couple.

First of all Krista is one of the sweetest young ladies you could ever meet! So her wedding was bound to be wonderful from the start! Gorgeous bride (her dress was
heavenly and the cowboy boots made it),handsome groom, amazing venue, fantastic food (grit station nuff said), world class band, photo booth, best wedding cake I had ever eaten, homemade pepper jelly, great friends and family = the best wedding ever!
Can’t wait for the anniversary party!
