Booyah!
When I saw these amazing photos on Colorado Mountain Wedding Photographer Steve Z's website, I just HAD to share them with you! And Steve Z was gracious enough to give permission. Thanks Steve!
This bride knows what she's doing on skis! What a fun trash the dress session, dropping off a cornice on a wonderful spring day.

Of course I found these lovelies over on the fabulous Ruffled Blog AFTER I posted last week's Tree Decor Inspiration. Grrrrr. These obviously would have fit perfectly into that taxonomy. Oh well. On the bright side, the total coolness of hanging vintage frames from trees is underscored here, by themselves.
You can put anything in these frames: lace (which would be particularly awesome if it was heirloom lace from your family); pretty wallpaper in your wedding colors; pictures of the couple, family, and friends; small glass jars with flowers or other ephemera; or vintage ads, postcards, or posters.

I have lots of news to share with you. Some I will share now, and some later (muahaha). The "now news" is that I have resumed guest blogging for the Brides Book Blog. I generally post there once a week on the weekend, so check it out! Today's post is about a increasingly popular wedding cake trend–a modern twist on traditional Appalachian stack cake. The other news will have to wait until people who need to be in-the-know are brought up to speed. It's big news though, really big. And the clever reader will be able to read between the lines and make a fairly educated guess…
In the meantime, I saw these over at Love and Lavender and just had to share them with you. She has a whole bunch of place setting inspiration you should definitely check them all out. Here are my favorites.

I just got the newest adition of The Brides Book in the mail. (Thanks Lenore!) Anyway, I am completely blown away by these peacock inspired cakes in the Charleston section! Take a close look my friends. The colorful pieces of the inside of this cake look lightly frosted inbetween them, which means a lot of hand crafting by the talented Kelly Holder from U Designs Event Planning. Brie LeBret, also from U Designs Event Planning, photographed this the inspiration shoot.

As an outdoor bride myself, I have a deep appreciation for those who can decorate an outdoor venue without the decorations either competing with the natural scenery or being overwhelmed by it.
Decorating nearby trees with streamers, bunting, chandeliers, window panes, or miscellaneous ephemera is my newest favorite wedding trend. The whimsy of these items draped and hung in trees doesn't compete with the scenery and adds a little fun and pop to your wedding/ reception site. Check out a few of my favorite ideas.
