Classic Wedding Trend: Chandeliers

Chandeliers add a touch of elegance to any wedding, whether a rustic outdoor fete or a classic ballroom wedding.

I first saw chandeliers back in 2008 when I started planning my own wedding and I am so pleased to see that they are still popular. They add a touch of grandness and elegance that is classic for twentieth century weddings.

I especially love the elegant crystal chandelier strung over a rustic table with tall mountains in the background. I'm not sure what you call it: rustic chic? rustic elegance? But I love the grandness and glamour of a big crystal chandelier in a dusty, high desert setting. I'm also a big fan of hanging mix matched vintage lanterns from a tree. Or combining a classic crystal chandelier with brigthly-colored origami cranes.

I am continually impressed with the creativity and ingenuity of chandelier design and use at weddings. Brides are rethinking the standard crystal chandelier and using mason jars and bird cages to create the same effect. I love it all!

Another thing I love about outdoor chandelier design is they do not have to light up to create a stunning effect, especially for daytime weddings.

These are so romantic! I love that butterfly chandelier, but noticed it was over $100,000? Sounds like a great DIY project! :)

I love this – the contrast of chandeliers in a rustic outdoor setting is one of my favourite things ever. Great roundup!

@Cap Classique Thanks!

I love the use of little jam jars for an inexpensive wedding look!  You can buy craftwire online and the effect of lots of hanging jars – with either flowers or candles is stunning. I'm really enjoying your website – shame I didn't find you before the big day – lots of inspiration for future occasions! Thanks for getting in touch :)

@Vicky I love that look too! I have boxes of funky little jars and vases I just can’t let go of. Thanks a million for the tips and the kind words!

I think my favorite wedding chandelier is the one made with candles inside mason jars!

I love this new trend of using chandeliers as decorations for wedding events!  I especially love it when they use it as an outdoor decoration — it really adds so much elegance.

I LOVE the chandeliers that are made of mason jars and have candles in them. Hmmm, maybe I'll try to make one….

Yes! Do it Lauren ;-)

I love chandeliers and mobiles and hanging flowers and butterflies. You have some gorgeous examples as always Christie!
