By way of continuing our flower theme for WNC wedding wisdom, I caught up with Janet P. Frye of The Enchanted Florist and asked her to discuss wedding flower trends for Asheville and western North Carolina brides, Janet's response should come as no surprise, Pantone's color of the year for 2010 is turquoise.. She's seeing turquoise and guava as big wedding color trends, and "lots of little" as a textural trend in bouquets and centerpieces. However, Janet has some lovely advice for thinking through how wedding flower trends fit into the big picture of planning your wedding.

Technology Tuesday: iGoogle and Google Reader

Organize and Stay on Top of Your Wedding Blogs with Google

I don't know about you, but I follow scores of blogs. Google reader and Google home page let me follow all of my favorite blogs without actually having to go out and find each one every day. I use Google homepage and Google reader to organize my favorite blogs so I can keep updated on new posts without having to go back to each blog every day.

The biggest reason I like Google Reader and Google home page over RSS book marks is that Google gives me a quick visual of what's going on in the blogosphere. Check out a few informational videos below:

Rustic Lodge Decor: Deal Maker or Deal Breaker?

Y'all know that I love me some rustic wedding inspiration. Right? Well I do. I love mason jars, and burlap runners, a wood rounds as cake stands, and wildflowers, and all the lovely bricabrac of a rustic wedding. What can I say, I'm a consummate mountain girl.

Recently, while touring the The Farm in Candler, NC (more on that later), the owner, Beverly, showed me a gorgeous stone fireplace in the main venue barn. It had dozens of ivory pillar candles running mantle. The stone and the ivory made for a very romantic and elegant tableau.
