For a Sweet Handmade Look, Consider Mix-and-Match Vintage Plates and China

The one year anniversary of our North Carolina Wedding as coming up in May. By now, it should be no secret that our wedding pictures did not come out. I made a bad decision hiring an armature student even though pictures were in my top five list of priorities. So the Hindsight Groom and I are doing an anniversary shoot with Two Ring Studios. Can I get a w00t?!
We did a handmade, DIY wedding, so I still have most of the decorations. I want all those little pieces of the wedding we spent so much time and love making to be represented with us. We'll hang up some bunting; pull out the pinwheels; play with the guestbook chalk board; eat some cake and cookies; drink some wine; and set up a table.
So the tablescape is posing a wee bit of a problem. We rented our dishes, and they come in ten packs. The solution came while trawling thrift stores in search of milk glass. Vintage China!
Ranging in price between 10 cents and 2 dollars a piece, vintage china can be a sweet and affordable option for smaller weddings. AND you can donate the china back to the thrift store, so they make double the money on each piece.

Thanks Amber V. Glad to see you back online. And yes, hoooray for the anniversary shoot. We’re doing it at the NC Arboretum. In some ways, it was you that convinced me to not give up on beautiful pictures :)

fantastic idea – I know of a thrift shop that has lots of glassware, and I love the idea of re-donating it.
